A RHYTHMIC gymnastics club has had a very successful year.

The Deeside Rhythmic Gymnastics Club combine gymnastics with dance, ballet and apparatus manipulation at Deeside Leisure Centre.

The group, which ranges from the ages of four to nine, won gold at the Rhythmic National Development Plan Finals 2016 for elite and national group leagues held in Stoke-on-Trent.

The gymnasts also won three golds, two silver and two bronze medals at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff at the National Sport Centre and have even had success at international competitions in Chambery, France, winning silver medals.

Head coach Shirin Mustafa said: “I’m very proud of my gymnasts. They are so talented and work very hard.

“They achieved brilliant results from their last competitions and we are happy that we were able to compete in our first international competition in France and came back with medals.”

Within the group, Esme Primrose and Ashley-Hana Rosqueta have had impressive individual achievements.

Esme became the Welsh Champion for under 11 rhythmic gymnasts this year and Ashley-Hana is a gold medalist after winning the Open Welsh Championship.
